- Matt Hewitt, Class of '06 Some athletes seem to have a golden pathway to the pros. Matt Hewitt's football career has had many twists and turns as he pursues his dream of playing professional football. Hewitt, a graduate of Englewood (NJ) High School, came to Alfred State College in 2004 as a quarterback. Before even thinking about taking a snap under center the Pioneers coaching staff decided to take advantage of Hewitt's athleticism and moved him to the defensive side of the ball.
- Tim Harris, class of '77 Most Americans manage to achieve some level of the American dream: a house, a car, a career, a family. However, it seems as if the American Dream for the 21st century is to retire young while you still have the time to enjoy it. Most people fall short of this ideal, but at least one Alfred State College graduate managed to pull it off by age 40!
