In the fourteen years since baseball was re-instated Tom Kenney has developed the Pioneers into one of the top NJCAA Division II baseball programs.

During his tenure at Alfred State the Pioneers have a 564-255-2 (.687) record. During that time the Pioneers have captured five Region III Championships, five WNYAC titles, a New York State Division I Conference Championship, a third place finish in the NJCAA Eastern District tournament and two third place finishes in the NJCAA Northeast District Tournament. The Pioneers have won more than forty games in ten of the past twelve years and have averaged over 44 wins a school year during that time period. In 2007-08 the Pioneers finished 33-21-1.

Kenney holds a Master’s Degree from SUNY Brockport where he played college baseball and served as an assistant coach before joining the staff at Alfred State College. He also has served on the executive board of the NCAA sanctioned New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) and was the general manager of the Hornell Dodgers NYCBL franchise. Kenney was named Region III Coach of the Year in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005.

Kenney resides in Hornell with his wife Debi, sons Jacob and Ty, and daughter Kaleigh.
