Michael Caba took over the softball program in 2007 and is looking to make the program a regional championship contender. The 2007 squad finished 10-28 and had two players named All-WNYAC at the conclusion of the season.
Caba has a bachelor of science degreee in kinesiology from Georgetown College (KY) and a master of arts degree in sports management from the United State Sports Academy.
Caba played baseball all through high school and during his freshmen year at William Penn University (He was primarily a pitcher in high school and moved to catcher at William Penn). He started his coaching career as Alfred State's assistant baseball coach in 2001 prior to joining the athletic department full time in the fall of 2002. Today, Caba is very active in the summer softball community in the southern tier.
In Caba's six years in the athletic department he has served as the football team's offensive coordinator, the assistant track & field coach, and as the athletic department's academic mentor.
Caba and his wife, Jen, reside in Hornell with their daughter Morgan and son Jaimen.
