The Alfred State volleyball team has been reborn the past few seasons as the Lady Pioneers have emerged as one of the top programs in Region III. ASC has made four straight trips to the Region III Division III Tournament after not making the tournament since the 1990s. In 2007, the Lady Pioneers made their first trip to the National Championships since 1977.

Alfred State College sophomores Brianne McMahon (Buffalo/Sweet Home) and Elaina Braun (Waterloo) have been named 1st team NJCAA Division III All-Americans. It is the first time in at least 30 years that A-State has had a 1st team All-American and the first time in school history that two members of the volleyball team were named All-American in the same year.

After two unbelievably successful seasons the standard of excellence of the volleyball program will now be compared to the success of the 2006 and 2007 teams.
