The Orvis Activities Center (OAC), located on Upper Campus Drive, houses the college gymnasium,
auditorium, swimming pool, varsity athletics facilities, exercise facilities, and some Athletics Department offices. In addition, it houses the Office of Student Activities, the campus radio station, and many campus clubs and organizations. Built in 1969, the Center was named for Dr. Paul B. Orvis, the fifth president of Alfred State from 1936-60.
When classes are in session, the OAC is open from 6 am to 1 AM (Mondays through Fridays), 12 Noon to 3 AM (Saturdays), and 12 Noon to 12 Midnight (Sundays).
Located on the first floor of the OAC, many events are held here, including choir and band concerts, drama club productions, talent shows, and awards ceremonies.
Located on the second floor of the OAC, this is where school athletics, intramural athletics, and honors convocation convene.
The Pioneer Lounge serves as location for many campus events, especially the popular Alfred Programming Board Picture Shows as well as the dining area for the Peach Pit. The lounge is open from 4:30 pm to 11 pm daily (when classes are in session) and is only available for private bookings outside of these times.

It is open daily from 8:30 am to 4 pm when classes are in session. Except for outside rentals, the center is not available to the greater community.
