Alfred State College recently hosted Joseph A. Dunn, PhD, special adviser to the under secretary for Research, Education and Economics, U. S. Department of Agriculture, who visited campus to learn about the college's programs, to discuss possible liaisons between ASC and the USDA, and to discuss opportunities for additional funding for Alfred State Agriculture Projects.
Two Alfred State College students were recently named
the recipients of $300 scholarships from the New York State Engineering
Technology Association (NYSETA).

"digital dorm room" (DDR), a program designed to bring new technology and
solutions directly to colleges and universities across the United States.
Alfred State College sponsored a "Get Your Ad Running" video contest during the just-completed spring semester. Using Alfred State College's tag line "Hit the Ground Running," contestants created a 30-second video showing why Alfred State College is the best place to get an education.
Culinary arts and culinary arts/baking, production and management students at Alfred State College competed in the 31st annual Culinary Arts Exposition, which featured an exhibit of Epicurean delights, earlier this spring.
Five professional chefs adjudicated the competition at Alfred State College's School of Applied Technology, Wellsville.

Smiles were the order of the day, Thursday, May 8, when Alfred State College, its faculty, staff, alumni, retirees, students, friends from all walks of life, and SUNY (State University of New York) gathered to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the school's founding.
More than 1,000 of local school children and their teachers attended Alfred State College's annual Kiddie Ag Day celebration sponsored by the faculty, staff, and agriculture students at the college.
