    The Alfred State College baseball team rallied three times in game two of a non-conference doubleheader to salvage a season opening split with Pennsylvania College of Technology.  Penn Tech won the opener 7-1 while A-State won the nightcap 9-8 in eight innings.

    The Alfred State College athletic department will induct the 2008 Hall of Fame class during ceremonies on Friday September 12 as part of Homecoming activities.  Softball/basketball player Toni Darling (Johnston), bowler Gerry Cox, and baseball player Joe Van Gorder will join the 43 current members of the Hall of Fame.  read more »

    The 2008-09 Alfred State College athletic season kicks off this week as preseason camps open in preparation for the fall seasons.  Football, volleyball, men's & women's soccer, and baseball will all report to campus and begin practice by Sunday while the cross country team will begin practicing on Tuesday.  read more »

    Eight Alfred State College athletes have earned NJCAA Academic All-Americans for excellence in the classroom.  Cal Ayers (Letchworth), Keenan Hall (Monticello), Kaila Smith (Alfred Almond), Dustin Falkner (Letchworth), and Gallaway Longenecker (Manheim, PA) were all named Distinguished Academica All-Americans while Kevin Underhill (Somers), Paul Farrell (St. Francis), and Sarah Palmiter (Alfred Almond) were named All-American.  read more »

    Eight members of the Alfred State College baseball team have been named to the Region III Division II All-Region team.  Kevin Underhill (Somers), Derek Speaker (Starpoint), and Bruno Saraceno (Binghamton) were first team selections while Andrew Foster (Clarkson, ONT.), Craig Kosnikowski (N. Tonawanda), Kelvin Espinosa (George Washington), Adalberto Vargas (Norman Thomas), and Yordis Veras (Newtown) were second team selections.  read more »

    Monroe CC scored two runs in the bottom of the 9th to erase a one-run deficit and win 8-7 over Alfred State in a Region III Division II Tournament contest.  With the loss the Pioneers season comes to an end with a 23-15-1 record while the Tribunes are one win from the Regional title.  read more »

    The Mercyhurst North East baseball team scored three runs in the top of the 9th inning to rally for a 4-3 victory over Alfred State in a Region III Division II Tournament contest.  The Pioneers fall to 23-14-1 on the year and will now face a must win contest versus #1 seed Monroe CC on Saturday afternoon beginning at Noon.  read more »

    The Alfred State College baseball team split their final regular season doubleheader at Finger Lakes CC on Tuesday.  FLCC got a walk-off homer by Zach Eason in game one to win 8-7 but the Pioneers collected 17 hits in the nightcap in a 15-1 victory.  read more »

    The Alfred State College baseball team snapped a three-game slide with a doubleheader sweep at Onondaga CC.  ASC held on to win the opener 13-11 and won the nightcap 8-4.  The Blue and Gold are now 22-12-1 on the season.  read more »
