Darling, Cox, and Van Gorder to be inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame

The Alfred State College athletic department will induct the 2008 Hall of Fame class during ceremonies on Friday September 12 as part of Homecoming activities. Softball/basketball player Toni Darling (Johnston), bowler Gerry Cox, and baseball player Joe Van Gorder will join the 43 current members of the Hall of Fame.

Flint and Bachert named All-WNYAC

Alfred State College sophomore softball players Sarah Flint (Westmoreland) and Bridgett Bachert (Horseheads) were named All-WNYAC second team. Flint and Bachert helped ASC to a 10-28 record in Coach Michael Caba's first season at the helm of the program.

The Alfred State College softball team got the bats going as they swept Alfred University JV, 18-10 & 10-1, to wrap up the 2008 season. With the wins the Blue and Gold finish Head Coach Michael Caba's first season with a 10-28 record.

Lady Pioneers fall at Herkimer

The Alfred State College softball team had its chances in game two of a doubleheader at Herkimer CCC but were unable to captiatlize and fell 4-2 after dropping the opener 11-4. The Lady Pioneers are now 8-28 on the year heading into their season finale on Sunday afternoon.

Corning downs A-State

Corning CC got strong pitching performances as they held Alfred State to just one hit in a Region III softball doubleheader sweep, 11-0 & 9-0, on Thursday afternoon. CCC improves to 21-8 overall and 19-5 in Region III Division III contests while the Lady Pioneers fall to 8-26.

Lady Pioneers battle tough vs. Broome

The Alfred State College softball team battled tough in a doubleheader at Broome CC but came away with two hard fought losses. The Blue and Gold fell 10-3 in the opener and then couldn't rally all the way back from a 4-1 hole and fell 4-3 in game two.

The Alfred State College softball team was held to just five hits as they dropped a doubleheader at Tompkins Cortland CC, 12-0 & 8-0. The Lady Pioneers fall to 8-22 on the year.

The Alfred State College softball team couldn't snap their losing streak and lost both games to Jamestown CC, 10-4 & 6-3. ASC falls to 8-20 on the year.

Monroe trips up ASC

The Monroe CC softball team extended their winning streak to 15 games with a doubleheader sweep of Alfred State on Tuesday afternoon. The Tribunes, the two-time defending NJCAA Division III champion and currently ranked #2 in the nation, won 13-1 and 8-0 to improve to 23-9 on the year. ASC has dropped its last eight games and falls to 8-18 on the season.
