The Quad welcomes students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, and visitors to the Alfred campus. Imagine a courtyard full of students watching faculty dressed in cap and gown march towards stage erected in front of the bell tower - a gathering place in the heart of this thriving institution.

In preparation for the Centennial Celebration, Alfred State College is kicking off a major initiative to renovate the Walter C. Hinkle Memorial Bell Tower.

This project will also establish an Alumni Plaza that will pay tribute to the College's friends and alums while serving as a reminder of the accomplishments of the many generations of the ASC family.

Our most recognized icons, the Walter C. Hinkle Memorial Bell Tower and (soon) the Alumni Plaza, previously known as the Quad, are in dire need of renovation.

This project's immediate focus is on the restoration of the Hinkle Bell Tower, costing an estimated $30,000 to restore it to its original prominence.

The newly established Alumni Plaza initiative is a continuous program beginning at the foundation of the Bell Tower and extending throughout the walkways and plazas on campus. The vision for this project takes the campus well into our future.

This initiative, requiring over $1 million in funding when completed, offers a variety of individual options, Image a picture of bricks top saying Alfred State SUNY College of Technology with two small corner bricks and a lower brick that says Alumni Plaza allowing all levels of donors a chance to participate. You may engrave the name of an alum, a favorite faculty or staff member, a classmate, a family member, a favorite class, or a friend of Alfred State College, in a brick that will be included in the Alumni Plaza.

Alfred State is seeking financial support to ensure the restoration of the Hinkle Bell Tower and the continued development of the Alumni Plaza.

Recognition Opportunities - Hinkle Bell Tower

• Complete renovation and renaming of the Hinkle Bell Tower - $30,000. Name on renovation plaque at base of tower. Example: Hinkle/(your name) Memorial Bell Tower
• Historical marker at base of bell tower -$15,000. Name on historical plaque at base of tower.
• Bell Tower restoration $1,000. Name on donor plaque at base of tower and President's Society member.
