Visitors to campus will notice that ASC is experiencing its biggest "building boom" since the late 1960s. Below, a brief description of the current projects.
Engineering Building Phase III Rehab
This phase updates offices, labs and classrooms with new finishes and furnishings, new mechanicals and cabling infrastructure will be added. The work began the summer of '05 and will be completed during the fall of '06.
Total estimated project cost is $5.9M.
Athletic Field Upgrade
Includes: track re-surface, track infield re-surface to allow for field events, such as lacrosse, soccer and team practice sessions. This will allow the College to host NJCAA regional and national collegiate events and play home games on campus.
Total estimated project cost is $2.5M.
Alumni House Rehab
As the rehabbed Victorian House will serve as the new Alumni House, the current Alumni House is being rehabbed to accommodate University Police. Funding will support telecommunications upgrades and a small addition for a staff room and an expanded evidence room.
Total estimated project cost is $100,000.
Horticulture Building Rehab
Adapts to new programmatic use by CCET. Repairs include pointing and caulking of the exterior envelope, replacement of main entrance doors and store front, flooring and light fixture replacement. Various portions of the electrical and plumbing systems will be replaced. These changes will improve instructional needs for the Landscaping program and to serve as a new home for the Center for Education and Training, whose mission includes providing non-credit bearing courses to the local community.
Total estimated project cost is $300,000.
Victorian House Rehab
In order to adapt to new use by the Institutional Advancement, Alumni and Communications departments. Flooring, interconnecting walls, doors, light fixtures, and ceilings will be replaced along with electrical wiring, heating, and plumbing systems. Restoration will return the building to its original look.
Total estimated project cost is $300,000.
Central Dining Building Rehab
A common gathering space will be constructed to allow for students to gather for events after the traditional food service closing time.
Total estimated project cost is 5.5M.
Allied Health Building Rehab Study
This study is expected to result in a working plan of building upgrades which will be part of the next Capital Plan projects.
The total project study cost is $150,000.
E.J. Brown Rehab Work
Entrance doors and associated store fronts, stairwell tread surfaces, ceiling tiles, light fixtures, and paint will be replaced. Ventilation repairs will be made to various first-floor areas.
The total project cost is $250,000.
Library Improvements
A programmatic study will be conducted of the specific internal departments of the library to determine how and what upgrades could be effected to enable the library to function most efficiently for the College.
The resulting work definition is expected to be approximately $300,000.
Town House Complex Construction
A six-building residential complex and a commons building will be constructed on the site between the Main Gate Complex and the Victorian House. The Complex will be complete and open for occupancy for the Fall '07 academic year. Approximately 150 parking spaces and extensive landscaping are included as part of this project.
Total estimated project cost is 12.5M.
Other Projects
There are a number of smaller projects that are a part of this funding. These projects include a $1.5M rehab of the Heating Plant and a $200,000 allocation to repair sidewalks and walls across the Campus.
Total estimated project cost is 4.1M.
